This hands-on workshop combines research, art, and simple circuitry to demonstrate the consequences of human activity on marine species. Participants will conduct research about a specific endangered marine species (what are the threats the species is facing?), make a simple circuit, and create an illuminated art object that they can keep, show, and share. This exercise, which can be adapted for grades 2-8, meets the Next Generation Science Standards unit on Earth and Human Activity.
