VENUE: Historic Villa
Activate your students’ imaginations when you challenge them to unite language and pictures in a unique work of art. Participants will use iPods with macro lenses to create a series of photos, and then write short poems to accompany the visuals, pairing verse with vision. The finished pieces will demonstrate the challenge and reward of combining visual art and the written word in unusual and poignant ways. Workshop will be led by Erica Goss, former Poet Laureate of Los Gatos.
Lesson plans and other resources will be provided for use in the classroom and elsewhere. Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core Standards connections will be addressed.
