VENUE: Historic Villa
2012 Visions from the New California awardee Justin Lowman will discuss his project, Barn Rays, a site conditioned installation located in a dilapidated two-stall pole barn that Lowman has been excavating since early 2010. Lowman’s work explores the relationship between time, light, surface and color through experiments with reflective/absorptive material interventions, scrims and filters, installed electrical light sources, video projections and fluorescent lighting. Originally, from Janesville, Wisconsin, Lowman has been living in Southern California for the past fifteen years.
