This event will take place online through Zoom. Prior to the event, registrants will receive a link and password via email, as well as additional instructions if necessary.

Have you ever heard the term “zine” and been curious about what this might be? Join August DeMarea as he briefly discusses the history and production of self-publishing zines. In this workshop, students will review examples to determine the type they want to make. Students will then create their very own zine as they explore different styles and techniques while incorporating self-expression and creativity! 


Please prepare for this online class by ensuring you can secure the necessary materials. with the materials list, links to purchase any necessary items, and other helpful information for class.

About the instructor, August DeMarea:

August DeMarea is an Illustrator and Space Cowboy based in Kansas City, Missouri. He has a passion for abstract imagery, queer symbolism, and all things that make him curious. August has heavy interests in conceptual development, branding, design, and print-based media. He enjoys the fermentation of foods, watching horror/thriller movies, and doing puzzles in his spare time.
