VENUE: Great Lawn
RELATED EXHIBITION: Mountains in My Spoon: Artists and Food at the Lucas Artists Residency
My American Pantry (MAP) is an exciting photo atlas of American food and drink, developed by Lucas Artists Program Culinary Fellow Andrea Blum. Traveling across the country to celebrate creativity, taste, community, and entrepreneurship, the project documents in carefully composed photographs the amazing array of artisans, products, and food traditions all over America. The end goal is to create an interactive tapestry of people, food, stories, and recipes that she will bring to the World's Fair in Milan in 2015.
On the day of the picnic, bring yourselves, a picnic blanket of a specific color, a homemade food and/or your artisan products to share, and the tools of the trade of your craft. Be prepared to make and share what you bring with those around you. We will do the rest with the composition and with the remote control camera flying above. Space is very limited.
