Look, mingle, taste, and talk…
Come celebrate the gallery show Possibilities of Paper with Lucas Artists Programs before its closing on May 31. Listen in on an engaging conversation with curator Donna Conwell and Lucas Artists Program Director Kelly Sicat and participating artists from the show. Take a tour of this remarkable exhibition and say hello some of the artists whose works are on the walls!
Join participating Possibilities artists Sandow Birk and Carl Pope who will discuss their works on view in the gallery. Sandow will talk about his project American Qur’an, which will soon be published in full in an upcoming eponymously titled hardcover book and shown for the first time in its entirety at the Orange County Museum of Art. Carl will describe his ongoing graphic essay Signs Hidden in Plain Sight and a new project he is developing at the Lucas Artists Residency about literacy and African American modernist writers. Take a tour of the show and say hello some of the artists whose works are on the walls!
Meet Montalvo’s new chef, Jordan Wolf. He will be demonstrating cooking techniques and providing delicious bites for visitors. Participate in a papermaking workshop with artist Julia Goodman. And listen to performances by Lucas Artist Fellows David Evan Thomas and Nikki Borodi. There will be a cash bar and food for sale. Come join the fun!
