During the creative process, important materials, processes, research, and ideas are often developed that ultimately may not make their way into a finished work. The process itself can be illuminating and fascinating, so how can it be communicated to the public?

Gajjar and Rathod's dialogue will focus on the important role of documentation in the production of an artistic piece. Conceived during their time working closely together while in residence at the LAP, the presentation will use video and photography to explore different ways of capturing and communicating the creative process. Their conversation will trace the work of an artist from conceptualization through completion, revealing the many challenges of translating ideas into compelling visual forms.

This event is sponsored by and co-presented with Art Forum San Francisco, a not for profit that strives to define and promote all art forms emerging from South Asia.
