The E Family
A dynasty of Love & Artistry!
Native Californian Pete Escovedo is a legend in Latin jazz, having performed and toured with such artists as Tito Puente, Mongo Santamaria, Bobby McFerrin, Cal Tjader, Woody Herman, Billy Cobham, Boz Scaggs, Anita Baker, Arturo Sandoval, Poncho Sanchez, and Chick Corea, to name just a few. One of the founders of the history-making band Azteca, Pete was also an early member of Santana. Today, he leads one of the country's top orchestras, which performs its own unique brand of Latin jazz.
Pete's daughter is Grammy nominated percussionist Sheila E. She has performed with Ringo Starr, Prince, Jennifer Lopez, Lionel Richie, Diana Ross, George Duke, Placido Domingo and countless others. As Musical Director for "Fiesta Latina: In Performance at The White House," Sheila recently earned her first Emmy nomination.
Pete's son Juan Escovedo brings his own flavor of R&B to the table. His dynamic performances on congas, drums, and vocals have been captivating audiences for years. Juan has played with Patti Labelle, Jodi Watley, Lou Bega, MC Hammer, En Vogue, Herbie Hancock and more. Pete's youngest son Peter Michael, an Emmy nominee for his work as Music Director and Producer for The Wayne Brady Show, joins the family on bongos and vocals. His energy and stage presence always electrifies the crowd.
The E Family's brand new album, Now & Forever, is a special 13 track collection encompassing a rich range of musical influences, from Latin and jazz to Hip Hop and Pop. It features special guest artists Earth Wind & Fire, Gloria Estefan, Joss Stone, Israel Houghton, Rafael Saadiq, George Duke and Damon Castillo, and is a must have for all music lovers.
