Contemporary lifestyles in Silicon Valley can leave the poet yearning for the slow lane if not the nearest exit. If your inspiration is as choked and congested as Highway 85 during rush hour, find renewal through writing at Montalvo Arts Center. Through the work of several well-known poets, this class will familiarize you with the broad genre of Nature Poetry and focus on writing skills in the process. In this class, voice, form and image will considered. In-class exercises, discussion and take-home assignments - and Montalvo's beautiful trails and gardens - will inspire your poems-in-progress. Some writing experience is suggested.
