Roberto Salas, son of  accomplished Cuban photographer Osvaldo Salas caught the attention of Fidel Castro, when at 16 he published a photo in Life magazine of the Statue of Liberty draped in a Cuban Flag. For nearly fifty years, Salas has lived in Cuba and worked as a freelance photographer, documenting the stories of Cuba, its revolution and the life of its enigmatic leader. Salas shares slides and his early experiences as the "state photographer" documenting Castro.
