GRAMMY NOMINATED! TROUT FISHING IN AMERICA

Sat, Feb 7th 2009, 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

VENUE: Carriage House Theatre

Nominated for a 2009 Grammy Award, Trout Fishing in America’s sophisticated and infectious mix of folk/pop and family music is tempered by the diverse influences of reggae, Latin, blues, jazz and classical music. Inspired by daily occurrences – from an ice-cream man who will “fill the cup all the way to the bottom,” to the similarities between playing at a day-care center and a prison, from odes to friends whom we love despite the fact they talk to much, to alien nose invasions – Keith Grimwood (bass) and Ezra Idlet (guitar) use humor to animate the acoustic folk tradition, creating songs “so fresh they practically wiggle.”  - Disney’s Family Fun magazine

TFIA recordings have garnered three National Indie Awards and multiple Parents Choice Gold and American Library Awards, as well as three Grammy nominations, including albums My Best Day (2006) and Merry Fishes to All (2005).

Appropriate for all ages.

This event also shows at 1 p.m.
