The Montalvo Arts Center includes rare and wonderful specimens of trees planted throughout its grounds. For example, the towering Bunya Pine (Araucaria bidwillii), planted on the Great Lawn, is sacred to the Aboriginal people of Australia and is a unique sight in Northern California.

Recently, new plantings of rare and unusual trees have once again begun at Montalvo. Among these are Kashmir Cypress (Cupressus darjeelingensis) from the eastern Himalayas; Blue Needle Palm (Trithrinax campestris) from Argentina; and Eucryphia milliganii from Chile.

Join us in 2012 as we raise funds for 100 Years, 100 Trees - a fundraising campaign aimed at planting as many as 100 new trees on Montalvo's grounds to grow our Arboretum!
