Carriage House Theatre Concert Series

Wow! Tickets to the concerts in our 2013-14 Carriage House Concert Series are selling like hotcakes. As of today, four of the concerts are already sold out, and three more have very limited tickets left! So, if you want to see any of these shows, it's best not to delay.

Stay tuned to our newsletter in the coming weeks, as we are preparing a special announcement about new concerts coming to the lineup. (How's that for a teaser?)

Here's the full list of concerts. Don't miss out: the 300-seat Carriage House Theatre is one of the best places in the Bay Area to see an intimate performance by a world-class artist!

All you ever wanted to know about Rashomon
and more

Rashomon

Join us next Friday, September 27, at 6pm, for a FREE Final Fridays art party! We'll be celebrating Chuck Ginnever's sculpture Rashomon and screening the classic film of the same name.

The evening will include art activities, food trucks, and a panel discussion with a guest from the San Jose ICA, film critic Sara Vizcarrondo, and artists Daniel Canogar and Miguel Arzabe.

Both the sculpture and the film investigate the subjective nature of reality. The panel will discuss the importance of these themes in our culture and society. Ginnever's Rashomon will be leaving Montalvo in October, so don't miss your chance to see it!

Coming? RSVP on Facebook and invite your friends to join you!

My American Pantry
brings together food, community

On Sunday, September 29, at 1:30pm, Culinary Fellow Andrea Blum invites you to participate in her photography project My American Pantry, with an aerial photo shoot on the Great Lawn followed by a community picnic. The resulting photo will be included in an interactive digital atlas representing American food and entrepreneurship.

For the past several years, Blum has been traversing the country, documenting artisans, products, and food traditions for her project. Participants and the tools of their trade are arranged for a photo from above using a remote-controlled camera. The goal is to create a map of people, products, and stories, and allowing viewers to interact with the images.

For the Montalvo shoot, all participants are asked to bring a blanket, a homemade food item to share, and the recipe for their dish. Professional food artisans will also be asked to bring products and tools of the trade for their craft.

If you are interested, click here to read more and RSVP! Space is limited.
