Arts in Your Classroom:
Workshop helps teachers engage students in the arts

Kids in a classroom

If you're an educator in any subject, we hope you will join us on Monday, March 3, from 4-8pm for our 12th annual Arts in Your Classroom teachers' conference.

Presented in collaboration with the Santa Clara County Office of Education and San Jose State University's Lurie College of Education, the evening will engage educators in a series of hands-on arts integration workshops, inspirational presentations, and opportunities to network with peers and artists.

This year's conference theme is: Engaging Students in the Sciences Through the Arts. Highlights include:

  • Keynote with Dr Kwang Sung, laryngologist at Stanford University; soprano Jennifer Bergeron, who will show the working of her larynx while singing; and Rick Turner, who will speak on the science of acoustics
  • Mid-conference reception with a musical performance
  • Five workshop sessions on multidisciplinary arts integration into the STEM tenants: Arts in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math
  • Closing wine reception with a raffle for Montalvo concert tickets and a final cello performance to integrate technological components learned throughout the day

Registration is free through the Santa Clara County Office of Education website.
