Winter Camps
on sale tomorrow!

Montalvo Camps!

Do you have kids? If yes, then there is a 100% chance you will need to find something for them to do over winter break in February. So why not send them to an AWESOME Winter Camp, like the two we're offering at Montalvo?

Our camps are taught by professional artists and educators, and they give students a chance to experience project-based learning in a unique, creative environment. Winter Camps go on sale to the general public tomorrow, and we expect them to fill up, so don't miss your chance—register right away!

CONQUERING THE SEAS AND SKY

• Ages 6-8: 9am-12pm
• Ages 9 & up: 1-4pm
Students will learn about materials, design, and engineering as they construct a vessel that can both float across a moat and glide through the sky. In just five days, campers will design a prototype, test it, and create a machine of their very own!

COOKING UP FUN
• Ages 6-8: 1-4pm
• Ages 9 & up: 9am-12pm
A mix of cooking and crafts make this class a hands-on feast of fun suitable for all ages! Follow recipes, learn about nutrition and hospitality, and make lots of tasty treats to take home to share.

Winter Camp dates are February 16-20, and each session is just $195 per student. Morning and afternoon care is also available. Click here for more information. Click the button below or call the Box Office at 408-961-585 10am-4pm Monday-Friday.

Montalvo is a member-supported
non-profit organization
dedicated to the arts.

Using the arts to change the world

Blessing Chimanga

It’s a bold statement, but true: Montalvo supports artists whose work is of exceptional caliber, bridges divides, and creates intercultural connections. That's why you should consider making a year-end gift to help us continue to enrich our community through the universal languages of art and music.

Here's an
example of what our donors’ support made possible in 2014:

Blessing Chimanga (pictured) is a 23-year-old percussionist from Zimbabwe. He came to stay at Montalvo in October as one of 25 young musicians who participated in the international exchange program OneBeat, living and collaborating with other artists from around the world—places like Iraq, Colombia, Egypt, and Kyrgyzstan. The OneBeat musicians performed their original work for local students and for over 1,000 guests at a free public festival at the end of their stay.

A gift to Montalvo supports transformative artists like Blessing and their projects. Won’t you please make a gift of any amount to help meet our year-end goal of $250,000? It's easy to donate online: just click the button below.

Jan in January:
Literary Lunch with author
Jan Ellison January 28
A Small Indiscretion

"Connoisseurs of domestic suspense will finish this book in a few breathless sittings, then wait eagerly for Ellison's next trick." —
Kirkus Reviews

Join us for lunch and a glass of wine in the historic Villa on Wednesday, January 28, from 11:30am-1:30pm, as our literary series continues with Jan Ellison. The award-winning writer will discuss her remarkable debut novel A Small Indiscretion with fellow author Katherine Maxfield.

Deeply moving and impossible to put down, A Small Indiscretion is a riveting treatment of one woman’s search for understanding and forgiveness, as well as a taut exploration of modern marriage and love—the kind that destroys and the kind that redeems.

Ellison's previous work won the 2007 O. Henry Prize and has been short-listed for The Best American Short Stories and the Pushcart Prize. She lives in Portola Valley with her husband and their four children. This conversation will explore the author's inspirations and writing process. Books will be available for purchase.
