Bistro Montalvo:
dining at the Villa

Bistro Montalvo

Have you ever attended a Carriage House Concert with a grumble in your tummy from skipping dinner to get to the show on time? We have the perfect solution: introducing Bistro Montalvo, now available prior to select performances. It's a great new way to have a meal with us before the curtains go up.

You'll be seated inside the beautiful historic Villa as night falls over our gardens and Great Lawn, and you'll enjoy a sumptuous 3-course prix fixe meal catered by Cafe Primavera. Mingle with fellow concertgoers at the bar in the Phelan Library, and make it a night to remember!

Bistro Montalvo will be available at these concerts:

Dinners are just $55 per person plus service charges (coffee/tea included; beer/wine & gratuity not included) and begin 90 minutes prior to showtime. Concert tickets must be purchased separately. To reserve your seat, click below or call the Box Office at 408-961-5858 10am-4pm Mon-Fri. Bon appétit!

Herb Alpert:
kind of a big deal

Herb Alpert & Lani Hall

If you miss out on seeing one of our two Herb Alpert & Lani Hall performances (Wednesday, December 2, at 7:30pm, or Thursday, December 3, at 7:30pm), you will immediately regret your decision.

Alpert is a living legend: his career includes five #1 albums, nine Grammys, and a National Medal of Arts. Along with his Grammy-winning wife Lani Hall, he will wrap his “relaxed, after-midnight trumpet” sound around a jazz set sprinkled with Brazilian flavors and old favorites.

Don't act like you're not impressed—get your tickets today before they're gone! Just click below or call the Box Office at 408-961-5858 10am-4pm Monday-Friday.

LAP Fellows to debut
new work January 15

XLIII: A Contemporary Requiem

Don't miss the world premiere of XLIII: A Contemporary Requiem, an electrifying site-specific performance work by Lucas Artist Fellows Andrés Solis and Sandra Milena Gómez, on Friday, January 15, at 7:30pm at the Mission Santa Clara de Asís (located on the Santa Clara University campus).

XLIII
is conceived as a contemporary memorial honoring victims of violence. Solis's score blends organ sounds with a chorus of 20 voices and electronic rhythms. Gómez and her three collaborators use dance to explore several themes including birth, repetition, dissolution, and renewal.

This remarkable program is presented by the Santa Clara University Chamber Singers and conductor Scot Hanna-Weir, and is co-commissioned by Montalvo and the Center for the Arts and Humanities at SCU. It is supported by the Consulate General of Mexico in San Jose and Conaculta-FONCA in Mexico.
