Photo Transfer Collages w/Dana Harel June 27

Photo Transfer Collage

Join us on Tuesday, June 27 from 6-8pm for Photo Transfer Collages with Dana Harel -- an art class for adults taking place in our charming outdoor Creekside Studio.

The photo transfer technique combines drawing with collage-making. You'll choose from a rich variety of images to create your own collage, then learn the process of transferring your work to Bristol paper. Finally, you’ll embellish your piece with traditional drawing materials for a truly unique masterpiece.

Instructor Dana Harel holds an architecture degree from the California College of the Arts. Her understanding of form through architecture leads to transformative depictions of humans and animals. She has exhibited in galleries across California as well as at the Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art in her native country of Israel.

This class is part of our Montalvo Summer Nights program, a series of after-hours arts practice workshops where experimentation is encouraged and light refreshments (including wine) are provided in a fun, social setting. All necessary art supplies are included in the registration fees, and all experience levels are welcome!

To register, click the button below or call the Box Office at 408-961-5858, Monday-Friday, 10am-4pm.

Take a Tour Before Lunch

The historic Villa Montalvo

You may have heard that each Wednesday from July 12-August 30, our Montalvo Service Group will host a delicious Summer Luncheon on the scenic front veranda of our century-old Villa. But how much do you know about the history the Villa and grounds? If you'd like to learn more, you're in luck -- because we're now offering special docent-led tours each week prior to lunch.

Come hear about Villa Montalvo’s history and architecture, its evolution into the present day arts center, the life of our founding benefactor Senator James D. Phelan, and more. And you'll work up an appetite as you stroll!

Tours are just $10, begin at 10:30am, and last approximately one hour. Click the button below to view available days and buy your ticket today, or call the Box Office at 408-961-5858, 10am-4pm, Monday-Friday.
NOTE: tours may be booked separately from luncheons.

Last Chance: Starry, Starry Night

Starry, Starry Night

This is the final week to grab your tickets to explore the galaxy with us! Next Thursday, June 22 from 6pm until the following morning, come and be a part of our spectacular nighttime art & astronomy slumber party, Starry, Starry Night!

You'll get to view constellations through telescopes set out on the Great Lawn, experience a mini planetarium, participate in art-making activities, and see the progress of our astronomy-themed Summer Camps from the week. You can join in a fascinating presentation about our vast universe by planetary scientist Jonathan J. Fortney. You'll also hear poetry and stories about the night sky, have a chance to take a guided night hike, and enjoy an outdoor screening of the movie Space Camp

For dinner, grab a delicious, freshly-prepared boxed meal from ModernTaste Catering (must be reserved before Monday, June 19 at 12pm by clicking here; only beverages and cookies will be available to purchase at the event). And if you like, you and the kids can sleep on the Great Lawn and wake up to a pancake breakfast in the historic Villa. It's going to be an unforgettable time -- treat your family to a night they won't forget!

Tickets are $50 for adults and $25 for children under 18 (all children must be accompanied by an adult). Click the button below or call the Box Office at 408-961-5858, Monday-Friday, 10am-4pm. NOTE: staying overnight is optional; if you bring a tent, please do not use stakes
