Get Ready to Bid in Moulin Montalvo Auction

Moulin Montalvo

Wondering what fabulous auction items will be up for bid at Moulin Montalvo, our magnifique Gala event coming up on Saturday, June 16 at 5:30pm? You're in luck, because the list has been published just in time for you to plan your bidding strategy.

Get ready to raise your paddle for a getaway to Maui; an adventure in Pebble Beach; a golf trip to St. Andrews, Scotland; a wine bottling party with a meal prepared by Le Papillon; or a VIP private dinner on opening weekend of our upcoming exhibition Bruce Munro: Stories in Light. You can see full descriptions of each of these packages on our event page here. Can't attend the event, but interested in bidding on our auction items by proxy? Contact Emma Moon, Director of Development, at 408-961-5841 or emoon@montalvoarts.org.

In addition, guests can also join our chance drawing for a beautiful pair of 14kt white gold diamond luxe Francesca earrings provided by Anne Sisteron Fine Jewelry. Only 50 tickets will be sold for this drawing at $200 each, and you can buy them in advance of the event! Just contact Chris Wilcox at cwilcox@montalvoarts.org to find out how.

Funds raised at this spectacular event will go to support Montalvo’s artistic and educational programming, so what better way to spend an evening? Fewer than 20 tickets remain for the party of the year, so grab yours now, don your best black tie or Belle Époque ensemble, and treat yourself to a night you'll never forget!

Summer Festival: We the People, July 20

We the People

Get ready to party with us on Friday, July 20 from 6:30-10pm as we host an evening of poetry, performance, soundworks, and installation art at We the People -- the opening festival for our summer Art on the Grounds exhibition.

Alluding to that quintessentially American phrase beginning the preamble to the constitution, We the People is an invitation for the Bay Area community to join poets, musicians, and visual and sound artists from across the globe as we collectively consider: How can we expand our understanding of “we” and imagine new, more inclusive ways of being together?

Participating artists will include award-winning poets Joe Jiménez and Willie Perdomo; innovative, cross-disciplinary saxophonist and composer Neil Leonard; powerhouse vocalist, songwriter, and activist Jennifer Johns; and acclaimed composer and musician Hans Tammen; among others. The event will also be an opportunity to explore three newly commissioned works for Montalvo’s grounds by Lucas Artists Fellows Maria Magdalena Campos-Pons, Marilá Dardot, and Howard Hersh that continue timely conversations around processes of othering and the politics of belonging and home.

Experts Agree: Lunch is the Best Time of Day

Summer Luncheons

Join us each Wednesday from July 11-August 29 as our own Montalvo Service Group hosts their famous Summer Luncheons on the front and side verandas of the historic Villa overlooking our beautiful grounds and gardens!

These scrumptious wine and salad lunches are the perfect opportunity to create a memorable experience with your friends and family on a summer afternoon. Three seating times are offered for each luncheon: 12pm, 12:30pm, or 1pm -- and you can begin your day in the Spanish Courtyard with a board game, cards, or mahjong (please bring your own games). You'll even enjoy an informal fashion show while you lunch!

The menu (prepared by Elegant Events Catering, Inc) changes for each luncheon, so check the individual event pages for that week's offerings. Vegetarian options are available upon request and must be ordered at the time of your reservation; reservations must be received a week in advance. For groups of 10 or more or to order over the phone, call the Box Office at 408-961-5858, 10am-4pm, Monday-Friday.
