Paula Cole returns
January 15

Paula Cole

You don't want to miss Grammy-winning, multi-platinum singer/songwriter Paula Cole when she returns to Montalvo on Friday, January 15, at 8pm for a performance in our intimate Carriage House Theatre.

Cole ("I Don't Want to Wait", "Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?") has released six solo albums during her 18-year career and has captured the hearts of fans and fellow artists alike. Musical giant Peter Gabriel, with whom she has toured over the years, calls her "an original voice both in what she is saying and how she is saying it."

She will perform selections from her 2015 release
7, as well as other favorites. Her past shows at Montalvo have sold out, so you'll want to get your tickets now before they're gone.

Do you have a friend who would love an evening of heartfelt pop tunes and beautiful vocals? A family member who attended Lilith Fair in the 90s or who still recalls the theme song from Dawson's Creek? Tickets to a Paula Cole concert (or to other shows in our Carriage House Series) can make for fun and unique holiday gifts!

Start the new year
with Laurie Rubin

Laurie Rubin

Join us on Thursday, January 7, at 7:30pm, for what promises to be a moving performance in the intimate Carriage House Theatre featuring the talented, classically-trained mezzo-soprano Laurie Rubin.

Rubin, who has been blind since birth, has performed at both Carnegie Hall and the White House. With her partner Jenny Taira, she created the duo PureLand in 2014; the two also recently collaborated on a musical called Peace on Your Wings.

For this concert, Rubin and Taira will play songs from these collaborations—including the fruits of Rubin's Montalvo residency: a program weaving the musical influences of classical, folk, and electronic styles.

Our month of amazing women in music continues on Sunday, January 24, at 7pm with a rousing performance by the dynamic, Tony-nominated Mary Bridget Davies in the Carriage House Theatre.

This sizzling singer has been called "a genuine powerhouse" by Entertainment Weekly. She received national attention when she channeled Janis Joplin on tours with Big Brother and the Holding Company and in the theatrical productions LoveJanis and One Night with Janis Joplin (for which she received a Tony nomination in 2014).

For her Montalvo performance, expect a white-hot set of blues and rock, including Joplin hits
. If you want to see an up-and-coming star up close and personal, this is the concert to be at!
