Dina Zarif is a performer and vocalist and designer. She combine western classical singing with Persian and middle eastern singing style and developed her unique sound. She performed at various festivals and venues such as Singing for La Tania Baile Flamenco at SF Palace of Fine Arts and in performed in chamber Opera "The Passion of Leyla"in San Jose stage, and Composed music and sang and toured with "Home"a theatrical dance performance.
As an actress she performed in Bahram Beyzai-One of the most influential researcher and play writer of Iran- "Ardaviraf's Report" a play in Stanford university and most recently she performed the role of "Dancer/Singer" in Mr Beyzaie's newest play "Tarabnameh" a 9 hour Persian traditional musical in Stanford Iranian studies department. She performed with Golden Thread Productions in Leyla & Majnun staged reading at BAMPFA as part of the symposium around Silk Road Ensemble & Mark Morris' work In Cal Performances.
Currently she is performing as a shadow actress and also designed the costume in the Shadow play "Feathers of Fire" Persian Epic as the "Princess Roudabeh" which was performed at Fort Mason Cowell Theater, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Metropolitan Museum in NY, Harvard, UCLA and toured in Poland, Taiwan & Canada.As a working artist in the community, She is Lead performance host at "Red poppy art house" in San Francisco and most recently curated the project " Music of the Banned" in reaction to the Travel Ban, which is to Highlight the music of 6 Muslim countries ( Iran, Syria, Libya, Sudan, Yemen, and Somalia)"These countries are a source of rich music and art that we can explore in a journey of peace and understanding by inviting the artistic ambassadors of these countries to lay down the drawbridge to their countries’ soundscape and beauty, and invite us all in". Dina received her MA in Landscape Architecture from University Of Tehran, College Of Fine Arts.
