"the tongue is most like a spoon,
the tongue is most like a leaf"
--Original text from a collaborative harvest-themed installation and performance with movement artist, Margit Gallanter
With degrees in both the fine and culinary arts, Niki Ford seeks to investigate the shared creative language of artists and chefs through concept based project work and a year of seasonal meals to celebrate imagination and the natural cycles of this vibrant and abundant California landscape.
Niki trained for six formative years as a cook at Chez Panisse and also immersed herself in the sensual, folkloric food culture of Italy with multiple stints at the American Academy in Rome as a part of the Rome Sustainable Food Project.
