IRAQ:REFRAME CONVERSATIONS AND LECTURES

Montalvo presents a conversation with Manhattan Assistant District Attorney and U.S. Marine Corps Reserves Colonel Matthew Bogdanos, who led the investigation into the 2003 looting of the National Museum of Iraq. Dr. Donny George, general director of research studies for the Board of Antiquities in Iraq, called the looting “the crime of the century because it affects the heritage of all mankind.”

Montalvo presents Brian Turner, author of “Here, Bullet,” a harrowing yet beautiful first-person account of the Iraq War by a solider-poet. Turner has received numerous awards for “Here, Bullet,” including the 2006 PEN Center USA “Best in the West” Literary Award in Poetry, a 2006 Lannan Literary Fellowship and a 2007 NEA Literature Fellowship in Poetry.
