For Traces, Twigs and Time, Montalvo included internationally recognized conceptual artist Yoko Ono's "Imagine Peace" Wish Tree, which is a part of her interactive long-term artwork WISH TREE (1981). The piece has been integral to many of her exhibitions in museums and cultural centers around the world where people have been invited to write their personal wishes for peace on simple white tags and tie them to a tree branch. Montalvo installed the artwork on a large evergreen on the front lawn for the Arts Splash! Open House & Student Arts Festival in April, and issued an open invitation to the community to participate and create an "Imagine Peace" Wish Tree. When the work is removed in October, the wish tags will be sent to the site of Ono's Imagine Peace Tower in Reykjavik, Iceland.
