Bay Area-based artist Jesus Rodriguez paints Mesoamerica iconic imagery incorporating illustration techniques, graffiti wildstyle elements, and high contrast saturated color combinations as a tribute to a rich cultural history. Rodriguez studied illustration for two years at the San Francisco Academy of Art University, CA (2000-2002). As an artist, he thrives on exploration, and values collaboration, as it allows him to deepen his skills while exploring new types of projects. Rodriguez has collaborated with landscape designers, with a mission of sustainability through the use of local native plants and reclaimed materials. He has worked in a fabrication shop for several years and had the opportunity to work on several different types of projects on view at the San Jose Discovery Museum, with a 70-foot laser-cut Amphitheatre currently in development for installation in 2024. His work has also been on view at the San José Mineta International Airport. He enjoys offering his skills to collaborations supporting concept development, design, project management or fabrication, and creative problem-solving.
