Sasha Vermel is a fabric artist and designer who lives in Missoula, MT. She has bent fabric to her will across multiple disciplines: theatrical costuming, wedding attire, product design, and large-scale installations. Sasha subverts common forms with unexpected textiles and exaggerated shapes – playing with structure and drape in conversation with the body. She has collaborated with Robin Lasser and Adrienne Pao over many years on the internationally exhibited Dress Tent series — wearable architecture that lives somewhere between shelter, sculpture, and spectacle. She shares unreasonably good mountain views with her husband and two children at their Montana home.

Past projects include: Santa Fe Opera; The Old Globe, where she created a custom tailored suit for Tony Award winner Cherry Jones that was pictured in Vogue; Opera San José; TheatreWorks; and Kaleidoscope for REBAR at the Berkeley Art Museum.
