Carolyn Pennypacker Riggs is a visual artist and musician from California.
She is a primary member of the Los Angeles-based group, Bouquet.

Raised in Berkeley, CA, Carolyn Pennypacker Riggs steeped in a potent admixture of astrophysics and synchronized ice-skating. Her shadowy pop songs address a wide spectrum of concepts — from quantum mechanics to ancient mythology — with an uncommonly clear narrative voice.

Riggs has performed at The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, University of Bangkok Art Museum, The LAB, Hammer Museum, REDCAT Theater, New Image Art Gallery, and MOCA LA.

BOUQUET
Bouquet (Carolyn Pennypacker Riggs, Aaron Olson, and Tom Filardo)  is a kaleidoscopic pop duo from California consisting of Carolyn Pennypacker
Riggs and Max Foreman.  The two set out to create a uniquely inviting, immersive
sound, intoning delicate vocal harmonies to a rising, ghostlike mass of guitar,
trembling synthesizer, and pulsations of early rhythm machines.  Lyrics
alternate between painterly portraits out of time and devastatingly simple pop
tenacity to delightful effect.  Bouquet’s music echoes undefinable post-punk
wonders Young Marble Giants and This Mortal Coil, synth heroes Cluster, and
the dulcet sensibilities
of Sibylle Baier and Sandy Denny.  Live shows incorporate elements of
installation, objects and videos that further envelop the listener.
