Christopher Loomis is a furniture maker and artist located
in Alameda California. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture and
Drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Illinois in 1993, and
went on to receive a Masters of Fine Art in Wood/Furniture from the California
College of the Arts (CCA) in San Francisco, California in 2007. Loomis
specializes in heirloom quality furniture, sculpture and home accessories that
blur the lines between art, craft, function and form. His work has been
exhibited at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Yerba Buena Center for the
Arts and the Museum of Craft and Design in San Francisco, California.

Loomis has collaborated on projects with leading designers
and artists in England, Japan, and Indonesia. In 2012 he served as a guest
professor at Beijing’s Central Academy of Fine Arts. He currently teaches in
the Furniture and First Year Program at CCA.
