Eugenie Dolberg

Eugenie Dolberg is the creator of the
Open Shutters project and a British based photo journalist whose work
has appeared widely in international publications.

The Open Shutters Iraq project brought
five Iraqi women with no photography experience together with a photo
journalist to document their lives through their own work in a
visually affecting exhibition. The Iraqi women, of diverse ages and
backgrounds were trained to trace the trajectory of their own lives,
and then used this process, as well as their training in photography,
to create the story they wanted to tell through photographs taken
themselves, resulting in an exhibition that reflects some of the
realities for civilian women living in Iraq today.
