Raised in England, Freya Bardell is a practicing artist, production designer, and educator. Bardell received her BSc in Environmental Sciences. She is the co-founder (with Brian Howe)  of Greenmeme, a collaborative studio focusing on the possibilities for material, cultural and conceptual sustainability in public art, architecture and landscape design.  Bardell’s work focuses on adaptive, site specific and programmed  strategies that engage the public.  Recent projects have included  a series of interactive wetlands (River Livers), storm water roundabouts, algae bio-reactors, vertical gardens, and deployable gathering  spaces.  Bardell is currently a fellow at Montalvo Arts Center, as part of Greenmeme’s “Wired Wilderness” project (a finalist proposal in the San Jose Climate Clock Global Initiative.)
