Grisha Coleman works as a dancer, composer, and media artist in performance and experiential media systems. She has created large scale projects for a variety of residencies and venues, most recently presenting echo::system at the Banff New Media Institute in Canada, the Beall Center for Art and Technology in California, and Eyebeam Centre for Art and Technology in New York. Reach, Robot, a site-specific commission by Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon, is another recent project notable for its public interaction and participation.

Coleman is a New York City native who received her MFA from the California Institute of the Arts. After completing a research fellowship at Carnegie Mellon University’s Studio For Creative Inquiry, she joined the faculty at Arizona State University where she continues to teach Movement, Computation, and Digital Media at the School of Arts, Media, and Engineering and School of Dance.
