Jimmy Biala

Jimmy Biala teaches Brazilian and Cuban percussion to youth and adult students in San José, California. He is the director of the group Bloco do Sol San José, an ensemble that features Brazilian percussion and dance. Jimmy has performed and taught in China, Taiwan, France, Germany, Brazil, Canada and the United States. He was the SV Creates On-Stage Artist Laureate of Silicon Valley 2017-2018 and is a current member of the G.R.E.S. Beija-Flor de Nilópolis samba school in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
