 Nene Humphrey has exhibited in numerous museums and
galleries including the McNay Art Museum, San Antonio, TX, Mead Museum, Amherst,
MA, High Museum of Art, Atlanta, GA, Sculpture Center and PS1 Contemporary Art
Center, NY. In 2013 she will premier a performance piece Everything that happens in collaboration with Roberto C. Lange and neuroscientist, Dr.
Joseph LeDoux, commissioned by Montalvo Art Center’s New Direction Series.

Humphrey has received awards from the National Endowment
for the Arts, The Rockefeller Foundation, The Smithsonian Institute Artist
Research Fellowship, The Asian Cultural Council and Anonymous was a Woman. Her
work has been written about in publications including the New York Times, Art in
America, Art News, The Village Voice, and Sculpture Magazine. She is represented
by Lesley Heller Workspace Gallery, New York

Everything
that happens is a part of an ongoing series of performances and installations
titled Circling the Center. Composed by Roberto C. Lange and performed with the
Cantabile Youth Singers of Silicon Valley under the direction of Elena Sharkova,
the performance examines brain mechanisms underlying human emotions. For more
