Rachel Perkoff was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She moved to NYC to study theater at NYU and Hunter College. She worked professionally for many years as an actor in the Obie award winning, multi-media theatre Co. Ridge. She has also directed plays at Ensemble Theater Workshop and acted in film and TV. Currently Rachel is working in postproduction on a personal documentary film that she produced and directed titled Another Lost Angel. The film explores the issues of identity and fate, and looks at the New Orleans lesbian mafia subculture in the 70’s.
Perloff is here thanks to a James Irvine Foundation grant offering residencies to displaced Gulf Coast artists.
