Sandy Silva

Sandy Silva performs with the Quebec group La Bottine Souriante and currently stars in her own show with violinist Laura Risk. In Montreal she has collaborated with choreographer Julie Lachange of Cirque du Soleil, and has worked at the National Circus School and in the National Theatre Production of Appalachian Strings. She has taught and performed as a guest artist for the Human Rhythm Project and with a variety of acclaimed musicians, such as the Irish band Altan and the great fiddler Martin Hayes.

While in residence Silva collaborated with accordianist Guy Klucevsek on pieces for accordion and tap. Before coming to Montalvo, the two artists had met only once over a year ago during a lunch.  They subsequently kept in touch through email, hoping to one day find the time and place to collaborate on a joint project.
