Sherre DeLys’ practice
has included radio art and documentaries, sound sculpture and installation,
sound designs for theater and short film, and improvised vocal music.

Her radio art is regularly presented by national
broadcasters and artist-run collectives worldwide and awarded Grand Prix Sound Design Phonurgia Nova
Awards (France) and Silver Award Best
Documentary
Third Coast Festival (USA), with a current work pre-selected for the upcoming Festival Prix Marulic of Croatia.

Her sound sculptures have been commissioned for
festivals including Biennale of Sydney and Sydney 2000 Olympics,
and group exhibitions at galleries such as
Centre for Visual Art Cardiff and Sydney Museum of Contemporary Art.
Her
sound art compositions have featured in performances and exhibitions at Pompidou Centre, Kiasma Contemporary Art
Museum Helsinki
andelsewhere. She’s created sound designs for Sydney Theatre Company productions
directed by Cate Blanchett and in her early career Sherre performed improvised
vocals – from Sydney Opera House to
outback tent shows. She was the founder of POOL,
an award winning online platform for media art collaboration hosted by Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Her
writings on sound have appeared in Leonardo
Journal,
MIT Pressand Reality Radio UNC Press and she
is currently participating in an online dialogue about her work for a chapter
in Voice
Studies
to be published by Routledge.
