About

Susannah Bettag studied illustration at Camberwall College of Arts and Crafts in London. Following graduation she came to San Francisco where she worked in illustration and later opened a successful design firm. In 2000, however, Bettag shifted her focus to working as an artist full time. Although her work is dominated by painting, in recent years she increasingly has begun to explore different media, bringing sculpture, animation, installation and video art into her portfolio.

Bettag has recently been featured in 7×7 and Art Ltd magazines and appeared on KQED’s SPARK. Her paintings and mixed media work have been exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Hong Kong. In 2008, the Crocker Art Museum in San Francisco acquired Now is the Time to Dance Upon the Earth for its permanent collection. Susannah Bettag is represented by Frey Norris Gallery in San Francisco.
