Erin Anderson

Erin Anderson is an interdisciplinary writer, audio producer, and documentary maker. She is co-creator and producer of the Audacy original podcast, Cement City, a ten-part documentary series that tells a story of day-to-day life in Donora, Pennsylvania, a forgotten former steel town. The series was named a top ten “Best Podcast of 2024” by The New York Times and was a 2025 National Magazine Award finalist for the “100 Greatest Podcasts of All Time.” Anderson’s independent radio and podcast work has received international recognition from the Ambies, the Signal Awards, the Sarah Awards, and the New York Festivals Radio Awards and has been featured by The New York Times, the Third Coast International Audio Festival, and the European Broadcast Union. She has produced audio for gallery installations and public art works at venues ranging from the Pittsburgh International Airport to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. She is an associate professor in the Writing Program and the Film and Media Studies Program at the University of Pittsburgh where she earned her PhD in Critical and Cultural Studies.
