Eva Wu (she/they) creates lush scenes of bold, fantastical joy in new media works that fuse photography, digital collage, GIF animation, and lenticular prints. Their vivid dreamscapes grapple with identity, representation, and belonging, portraying queer and trans people of color in a utopian, futuristic vision. Taking inspiration from 3D animation, game design, and virtual reality, Wu aims to disrupt traditions in form and content, blurring the boundaries between still and moving images and creating immersive viewing experiences. They have shown work at venues such as Allouche Gallery in New York, Practice Gallery in Philadelphia, Leonard Pearlstein Gallery at Drexel University, Portland Institute of Contemporary Art, and numerous film festivals in the US and abroad. Their previous honors include a Leslie Lohman Museum Artist Fellowship, a Center for Emerging Visual Artists Fellowship, and awards from the Leeway Foundation. Wu earned a BA in philosophy and political science from Bryn Mawr College.
