Los Gatos Poet Laureate Jen Siraganian is an Armenian-American writer, educator, and literary organizer. She earned a BA with Honors in creative writing, British and American Literature, and gender studies at Brown University and an MFA in poetry at University of Arkansas. She has served as Managing Director for Litquake: San Francisco’s Literary Festival and taught literature and creative writing in public and independent schools, as well as community settings for over twenty years. Nominated for a Ruth Lilly Fellowship and a Pushcart Prize, she has earned multiple scholarships from the Community of Writers and Napa Valley Writers’ Conference. Her poetry chapbook titled Fracture revolving around the emotional and physical disconnect after a serious accident was published in 2015. She has been profiled in San Francisco Chronicle and The Mercury News. Her writing has appeared in Best New Poets, NPR’s KALW, Cream City Review, Mid-American Review, Smartish Pace, Barrow Street, Southwest Review, and Not Somewhere Else But Here: A Contemporary Anthology of Women and Place.
