Lisa Napoli is a writer originally from New York, now based in downtown Los Angeles. As a reporter, she covered the dawn of the World Wide Web and ensuing digital revolution for The New York Times, MSNBC/MSNBC.com and public radio’s Marketplace. Her keen interest in the intractable influence of media on society is a theme throughout her four books: Radio Shangri-la, about helping to start a radio station in the kingdom of Bhutan at the dawn of democratic rule; Ray & Joan, about the great philanthropist Joan Kroc, whose fortune sprouted from a revolution in food and how we eat; Up All Night, about the marriage of satellite and cable technology which led to the creation of the first 24-hour TV news channel; and Susan, Linda, Nina & Cokie, about the launch of public radio and four women who played an incalculable role in defining NPR.

She earned her Master’s degree in Biography & Memoir from CUNY Graduate Center in New York. She has taught workshops on writing memoirs and ghostwritten books for several prominent figures.
