Michelle Lin (they/she) is a textiles artist, cultural worker, and author of the poetry collection A House Made of Water (Sibling Rivalry Press, 2017). Their art and community practices are rituals of grief and healing from the violences of living within the imperial core. As the Artist Growth Program Director at ARTogether, Michelle collaborates with 1st/2nd generation immigrant and refugee artists to create projects that reflect their lived experiences, needs, and dreams. Michelle believes in the transformative power of intentional relationship building and collaboration across cultures, backgrounds, and through the diaspora. They serve on the Advisory Councils for Vital Arts, a nonprofit advocating for safe, affordable Bay Area spaces for low-income artists, and for the Artists’ Adaptability Circles, a mutual aid-based funding and cohort development program for historically under-resourced artists and culture bearers. Learn more at michellelinmakes.com.
