Stella Zhang was born in Beijing, China and has lived in the United States since 2003. She received her BFA at Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1989 and earned her MFA at Tokyo Art University in 1996. Stella’s work has been exhibited in Chinese, Japanese and American galleries and museums. Her work has been included in fine arts collections in many countries. She has published six monographs. In 2016, she had a solo exhibition at Art Basel, Hong Kong. She is an artist-in-residence and guest lecturer at Stanford University. Zhang’s art is her way of interpreting various emotions and spiritual thoughts in order to show the true face of human nature. Her ideas are based on her identity.
