My son made a ceramic pot dedicated to his little sister and she can’t wait to join Montalvo’s summer camp next year, once she turns 7.

– Summer Camp Mom

8-12 JUN, 2026 | 1 week day camp | Age 7-10

Get your hands dirty in the best way possible! In this creative ceramics camp, young artists will learn the basics of hand-building by working with clay to design and sculpt their own plant-inspired creations. From pinch pots and planters to leaf-print dishes and whimsical garden sculptures, campers will explore form, texture, and function while connecting their artwork to the natural world. Throughout the week, we’ll experiment with shaping, carving, and decorating techniques, then finish our pieces with colorful glazes. Campers will also learn about the plants that might live in their pots, combining art and nature in a fun, tactile experience. By the end of camp, each artist will have a collection of handmade ceramic pieces perfect for home or garden display—and a newfound appreciation for the beauty that blooms when creativity takes root! Family and friends will be invited to an informal camp showcase on Friday, June 12.

All materials and supplies included with camp fee. As a part of their Montalvo Arts Center experience, all summer campers will have the opportunity to explore and learn about the native plants and animals around the property and its Santa Clara County Park trails.

Beyond our programs, everyone is welcome to enjoy a picnic on the Great Lawn, stroll through beautiful gardens, and experience our permanent outdoor sculpture collection—all free of charge. With the support of our community, we’re making the arts accessible to all in this remarkable setting.
