“Camp was wonderful! My kids loved the teacher Mr. Green and fun in nature and art.”

– Camper Parent (Discover Your Creative Nature Summer Camp)

15-18 JUN, 2026 | 1 week day camp | Age 5-7

Young artists ages 5–7 are invited to explore the beautiful shades of color in nature at Villa Montalvo in Art Play Lab! Inspired by their unique surroundings, this four-day camp playfully introduces children to the color wheel color and learning the basics for drawing, painting, and collage. Utilizing pencils, crayons, and markers with diverse textured materials, such as yarn, fabric, various types of paper (e.g. sandpaper), and natural found botanicals (e.g. leaves, branches, rocks), each camper will create a colorful collection of objects, drawings, and paintings. Daily activities combine guided instruction with time for free exploration, encouraging creativity, curiosity, and a love of nature.

All materials and supplies included with camp fee. As a part of their Montalvo Arts Center experience, all summer campers will have the opportunity to explore and learn about the native plants and animals around the property and our Santa Clara County Park trails.

We serve our community year-round through diverse programming, including summer camps, educational field trips, concerts in the Carriage House Performing Arts Series, rotating exhibitions, the prestigious Lucas Artists Residency Program, and free community festivals.

Beyond our programs, everyone is welcome to enjoy a picnic on the Great Lawn, stroll through beautiful gardens, and experience our permanent outdoor sculpture collection—all free of charge. With the support of our community, we’re making the arts accessible to all in this remarkable setting.
